Gaga, as Betsy dubbed her at the age of 8 months, is Elizabeth’s mother, Elsbeth Moyer. She is retired from academia, having been a professor of English Literature at a small college in New Jersey.
Retirement beckoned once Betsy was born. It might be said that Gaga spoils Betsy, but that’s not true. Together, Gaga and Betsy travel to local museums and training gyms, into Chicago, and wherever their daily whims take them. Honestly, the child is NOT spoiled!
During her free time, Gaga likes to read, particularly classic literature (residual occupational hazard), and experiment in the kitchen. She also helps Shawn and Elizabeth with their home renovations. It was a lifelong dream of hers to live in a lovely Victorian home. If it’s raining, she can be found on the front porch. Betsy seems to be taking after her grandmother in that regard.
